I had thought that I'd spend the summer playing with my kids and visiting with my friends. Or maybe trying my hand at gardening, or even just sitting on my rear reading best-seller after best-seller. (Yeaaah, like that would ever happen!)
I thought all of these things were possibilities until I BOUGHT THE LITTLE GREEN BY BISSELL!
I can't recall where I first saw this--maybe on the web or on tv but I couldn't get it out of my mind! I researched it online and was hooked; I knew I had to have my very own wee green carpet-cleaning machine!
We typically don't use carpet cleaning services and it's mainly because I don't want them dosing my carpets in a toxic cocktail. The only floor that I really would need carpets cleaned on is the upstairs and that's where my kids sleep--not a place that I want to fill with strange chemicals. I looked around awhile back and couldn't find a company that used non-toxic cleaners so I've been staring at dirty spots on my carpet and rugs wondering if ever I'd see them clean again.
Yes! Yes! My spots are GONE!
I picked up the Little Green yesterday and I couldn't wait to try it out this afternoon. We have a HUGE carpet cleaner that we bought several years ago and not only does it weigh more than I do (only half joking) but it long ago stopped working so well. IF I could haul it out, inevitably I'd be completely irritated with using it three minutes later. I knew I needed something light-weight, portable, and with some stain-bustin' power! (Four kids+one dog+ one husband= A Clear And Present Danger To Carpets Everywhere.)
I sat and happily (giddily) cleaned my dirty spots for over an hour today:
Circus rug in playroom--clean.
Stair-steps leading to second floor--clean.
Mystery yuck stain in my bedroom--clean.
Oh, I had a lovely time; that little machine made me so very happy! And you know what's great? My kids can use it, too! So guess who will be responsible for spotty dotty clean-ups in their own private spaces? (Them! Them!)
It's super easy to use, it comes with a hand-held attachment so you just spray and scrub--it soaks up the grime while you work. I had no problems figuring out how to use it (once I remembered to plug it in, groan...it's been a long day) and was able to drag it all over the house without incident. (Meaning no one was harmed during the process, not even the machine! It did not tumble down all 14 stairs and end with a splashy crash at the bottom! Now that's a success, right?) It removed ALL of my stains, every last one! And it's small--storing it won't be a problem.
A few other reasons I bought this model? Mainly because it's GREENER than the rest (and I needed something anyway):
--The parts are made from post-consumer recycled plastic; PVC-free tanks and hose.
--It comes in eco-friendly packaging! All Styrofoam has been eliminated and the box it comes in is made up of 75 percent recycled corrugated materials.
--Uses earth-friendly liquid cleaning formulas that do not contain any heavy metals, brighteners, phosphates, or dyes. (And doesn't smell funky, either.)
The bottom line is that this thing rocks! I mean scrubs :) Stick it on your wish lists; I'm not kidding, it's amazing--and fun to use! $79.99 on Amazon with free shipping.
So I apologize in advance for being MIA this summer.
Turns out, this Mommy has a new hobby :)

Wow, that does work well! I will add it to my wishlist right along with Brine's coffee maker, but I want the coffee maker first!
Comments:
Also, think it would work on the mud-stained feet of my newly stained deck? :) Did you see my latest blog, soooo groaning!!
Comments:
I still need to check out that Brine thing. Is that what it's called?
And unfortunately, I think your deck needs more than this little green machine can provide :)
You buy the wine, I can bring my staining brush :)

I am getting one of those! I need it BAD!
Comments:
I love it! Note to self: wait until Angi buys something before I do! She researches much better! (am kicking myself for the monstrosity I bought this winter hehehe)
Comments:
Jenny, you NEED this! Everyone needs this! I'm buying one for my mom for either her birtday or Christmas and I might get one for my sister too so she can easily clean her car mats. (She's weird like that :))
This is the best thing EVER!
Laura, I had a monstrosity too!! Worked great if I could have CHarlie haul it around for me. Charlie is beside himself happy that this is now one project I can do ON MY OWN! :)

Hey Chamois,
Brine is Shelly's nickname, member? The coffee maker was Krups I think. How could you forget the lovely pet names??? :)
Comments:
Ok, seriously, LOL!!! Actually, Carla, it's a Keurig. And soooooo get it before the green machine. You will need lots of coffee before tackling any stain project!
Your deck totally sucks! I'm with Angi, grab the wine and let's get staining girlfriend! The more that help, the easier the job!
Angi. . . .one question. . . are the green machine people paying you? If not, then they should be! Great advertisement!!!!
BTW. . . I want another nickname. . .Brine sucks. . .big time!
Comments:
Angi.. I have seen those and have considered getting one...and thanks for the tip. Scott says that Angi has too much time on her hands since she is now doing infommericals on her blog! HEHE

Brine, atleast you and Chamois got a pet name, I never did! :(

Lynn, get it. Madison and Ian can clean your house for you!!!!
Tell Scott that I can't wait to experience his good humor in person in NINE SHORT DAYS! ;)
Carla, boy, do I have a nickname for you! Sadly though, it can not be repeated publicly!!! Haha!
